Griffith Statement on Availability of Disaster Loan Assistance in Lee and Scott Counties

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced that federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans have been extended to qualifying businesses in Lee and Scott counties that have suffered from the drought that began on November 15, 2016. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “I am pleased that the Small Business Administration has extended Economic Injury Disaster Loans to Lee and Scott counties, recognizing the damage they have suffered from drought. These loans will help restore the livelihoods of people affected by this disaster.” Background According to the SBA, the entities eligible for federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans are small businesses, including those engaged in aquaculture, small agricultural cooperatives, and private nonprofit organizations. Applicants may apply online at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. They may also obtain information and application forms by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 or by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Loan applications can be downloaded from the SBA’s website at www.sba.gov/disaster. Completed applications should be mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155. ### |
