Griffith Applauds $2,297,356 in Federal Grants for Ninth District Workforce Training

The U.S. Department of Labor in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission has awarded a total of $2,297,356 to recipients based in Virginia’s Ninth Congressional District through the Workforce Opportunities for Rural Communities (WORC) program. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Workforce development paves the way for economic opportunity. The more than $2 million awarded through the WORC program will support worker training that meets the economic needs of our region. These funds represent an impressive commitment to Southwest Virginia’s rural communities by the Trump Administration.”

The recipients are:

Tazewell County: $1,443,900
Appalachian Sustainable Development: $853,456
