Griffith Announces Department of Energy Grants for Small Business Research and Development

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today announced that the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science has awarded two grants aimed at supporting small businesses in their work to develop new technologies to advance the clean energy sector.

“Southwest Virginia continues to be a leader in energy development and production,” said Griffith. “These two projects, supported by awards from the Department of Energy, will help small business in Southwest Virginia develop new energy technologies that will benefit all Americans.”

The projects awarded today:

Sentek Instrument, LLC (Blacksburg, VA) – $200,000; Distributed Magnetic Field and Temperature Monitoring for Linear Superconducting Radio Frequency Cavities 

NanoSonic, Inc (Pembroke, VA) – $200,000; Integrated Liquid/Steam Multiphase Flow Sensors for Geothermal Applications, Topic C57-14a
