Congressman Griffith is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over some of the most important issues facing Virginia’s Ninth District including public health and federal regulations. The Energy and Commerce Committee is the oldest standing legislative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. For the 118th Congress, Congressman Griffith was named Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. He also served on the Subcommittee on Health and the Subcommittee on Energy.
In the 119th Congress, Congressman Griffith is the Chairman of the Energy & Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Environment. He is a senior Member of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations and Subcommittee on Health.
Additionally, Congressman Griffith was appointed by Speaker Johnson to serve on the House Committee on Rules in the 119th Congress. Morgan serves as Vice Chairman of the Committee, which wields significant power in advancing legislation, controlling the terms and conditions of debate on a measure or matter, and contributing to the content of legislation
Congressman Griffith is also a member of the Committee on House Administration, which oversees the daily operations of the House of Representatives and Capitol security and provides oversight of federal elections. As part of the Committee, Congressman Griffith also serves on the Joint Committee on Printing. Composed of five Representatives and five Senators, the panel oversees the operations of the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO), whose support is essential to the legislative process of the Congress.
