GRIFFITH ON U.S. ACTIONS IN LIBYA
Washington,
April 6, 2011
I support the troops, I support the mission, and I support the Constitution of the United States of America.
Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s decision to involve U.S. troops in the situation in Libya without appropriate Congressional approval: “I support the troops, I support the mission, and I support the Constitution of the United States of America. I believe the President is currently in direct violation of the Constitution, and we should cease all military actions in Libya until he requests approval from Congress. If President Obama comes before Congress to request the appropriate authority for action in Libya, I will vote in favor of authorizing the mission. I urge the President to follow the Constitution and seek the consent of Congress in order to continue the mission.”
