Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement today after receiving The American Conservative Union’s 2011 annual ACU Ratings Award:

“It’s an honor to receive this award.  Conservative principles and the love of liberty are principles the Ninth District cherishes and that I proudly support.  The Constitution is the bedrock foundation of the United States of America.  It enumerates the rights of individuals and outlines clear limitations of government.  I take very seriously the oath I took to support and defend the Constitution.  I remain committed to these principles.”

DETAILS:  This award is only given out to those members of the House and Senate who scored 80% or higher on a wide variety of issues of interest to grass-roots conservatives voted on during the first session of the 112^th Congress.
