Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement commemorating Martin Luther King, Jr., Day:

“Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a man who summoned America to live up to its best ideals. Through his eloquence and commitment to nonviolent protest, he strove to make the words of the Declaration of Independence real for all Americans, those words being ‘that all men are created equal.’

“Let us use this day to remember the great things he did and the noble truths that inspired him.”
