Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement after U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development announced $55,000 in funding for the City of Norton and $36,000 in funding for the Town of Clintwood to upgrade their police vehicles:

“This Rural Development funding is good news for Southwest Virginia. Norton and Clintwood will be able to replace their older police vehicles. The more modern equipment provided by these grants and loans will support the work of our police officers and enhance public safety.”

Norton received a loan of $30,000 and a grant of $25,000 to replace two older police vehicles. Clintwood received a loan of $11,000 and a grant of $25,000 to replace one of its older police vehicles.
