Griffith Supports Bill to Enhance Palliative Care

Thursday, July 12, 2018 –The House Energy and Commerce Committee today advanced bills in a full committee markup, including H.R. 1676, the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) supported this bill and issued the following statement:

“For those suffering from serious illnesses, palliative care can bring comfort. I was pleased to support the bipartisan Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act as it advanced out of the Energy and Commerce Committee today. This legislation would lead to training grants for professionals in the field of palliative care, research to improve care options, and education to increase awareness. Improved training and research will better equip palliative care providers in caring for their patients.”
