The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced $85,715.00 in grant funds to the Coeburn Volunteer Fire Department through the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement following the announcement:

“This grant will provide crucial support to the Coeburn Volunteer Fire Department and the community they serve. With the awarded $85,715.00, the fire department will be able to purchase critically needed resources such as protective gear and emergency vehicles, and provide training to emergency personnel. Thanks to the support provided by this grant, the Coeburn Volunteer Fire Department will be able to enhance the safety of our firefighters and communities."
