Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded a $397,908 grant to Highlands Community Services Board of Abingdon for the Washington County Drug Court Program. He issued the following statement:

“Drug courts offer an alternative within the criminal justice system to comprehensively treat people suffering from addiction and to give them strength to abandon the perilous habits of substance abuse. This HHS grant will contribute immensely to the Washington County Drug Court Program’s mission to help people recover and thrive.”
