Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded $40,000 in federal funding to the Town of Pound for a new police vehicle:

“Public services are important to a community’s quality of life, but rural communities often face challenges in funding these services. USDA’s investment of $40,000 for a new police vehicle in the Town of Pound will aid in the maintenance of public safety and help law enforcement officials carry out their essential tasks.”

Background

The funding consists of a $25,000 grant and $15,000 loan. It was awarded through the USDA’s Community Facilities Direct Loan Program.
