Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded $1,072,356 in funding for the Black Lung Clinic Program at St. Charles Health Council in Jonesville: “Black lung clinics help coal miners and their loved ones face this terrible affliction. I am glad to have worked to increase funding for black lung clinics during my time in Congress. It is important that these clinics have the resources they need to treat miners, so funding black lung clinics has been a priority for me. The award of $1,072,356 to St. Charles Health Council will support continued medical care for the miners in Virginia’s coalfields suffering from black lung.” ### |
