The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded $396,605 in additional Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to jurisdictions in the New River Valley. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Community Development Block Grants support local governments in maintaining important services and promoting quality of life in their jurisdictions. Additional funding from this grant program during the pandemic will provide a measure of relief to New River Valley communities.”

Background

This round of funding was provided by the CARES Act, which Griffith supported.

Blacksburg - $210,594
Christiansburg - $111,118
Radford - $74,893
