Griffith Applauds USDA Rural Development Award of $6,291,000 to Saltville for Water Infrastructure

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development today awarded a loan of $3,264,000 and a grant of $3,027,000 to the Town of Saltville for water infrastructure. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Water infrastructure is important to the health, quality of life, and economic potential of a community. Today’s award by USDA Rural Development of $6,291,000 to Saltville will support a major upgrade to the town’s water and sewer systems. This is a significant investment for the people of Saltville.”

Further Information

USDA Rural Development funding will support:

-installation of approximately 16,550 linear feet of water main, water line, and service line;
-construction of a new 100,000-gallon water storage tank;
-a new pump station;
-rehabilitation of an existing pump station;
-installation of approximately 20,000 linear feet of 8” sewer collection line and approximately 1,200 linear feet of 4” sewer lateral;
-point repairs of existing sewer line;
-repairs to an aerial sewer crossing; and
-wastewater treatment plant improvements.
