Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded a $1,071,717 grant to St. Charles Health Council of Jonesville for the Black Lung Clinic Program:

“Black lung is an immense burden to coal miners and the families of those who suffer from it. That’s why I worked to expand federal funding for black lung clinics. The services they provide are a great resource for assisting miners and treating this affliction. The contribution of $1,071,717 to the St. Charles Health Council will support continued care for those suffering with black lung in Virginia.”
