Griffith Congratulates Drug Prevention Coalition in Tazewell on $125,000 Grant

The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) has announced a $125,000 grant to the Substance Abuse Taskforce in Rural Appalachia, Inc. (SATIRA) of Tazewell, Virginia. ONDCP provides awards to local drug prevention coalitions through the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement following the announcement:

“Today’s announcement represents a strong commitment to strengthening the communities of Southwest Virginia. This grant will assist the work of SATIRA to fight for solutions to reduce substance abuse among youth.”

Further Information

The DFC Support Program provides grants of up to $125,000 per year to community coalitions to strengthen the infrastructure among local partners to create and sustain a reduction in local youth substance use.
