Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today participated in the announcement that more than $2.2 million has been awarded to Ecotourism in Nature’s Wonderland in Buchanan County as a part of the federal Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization (AMLER) Program (also known as the AML Pilot Program). Congressman Griffith worked to receive federal funding for this grant program. He issued the following statement: “This award of more than $2.2 million will greatly support efforts for outdoor recreation through the reclamation of these abandoned mine lands. Outdoor enthusiasts, wildlife observers, hunters, and ecotourists will now all have the accessibility to enjoy the wildlife and natural environment in our region. I am pleased that Buchanan County was a recipient of these federal funds." ### |
