Over $5.1 Million Awarded to Cumberlands Airport Commission

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded $5,144,800 to the Cumberlands Airport Commission located at the Lonesome Pine Airport in Wise County to help improve drainage and erosion control and rehabilitate the runway.  Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Rehabilitating the runway and improving erosion control at the Lonesome Pine Airport will enhance the facility and support economic development in the area. The grant of more than $5.1 million advances needed maintenance and improvements.”
