The United States Department of Education (DoEd) today announced three schools in the Ninth District as 2021 National Blue Ribbon Schools. Those recognized are Elydale Middle School, Greendale Elementary School, and Meadows Of Dan Elementary School. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“I am pleased to see Elydale Middle School, Greendale Elementary School, and Meadows Of Dan Elementary School recognized for their commitments to academic success. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students, parents, and educators alike. I am grateful for their efforts and proud of their accomplishments.”

Background: Each year the U. S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon Schools Program identifies elementary, middle, and high schools that have demonstrated academic excellence and/or reduced achievement gaps between student groups. This year, only 325 public and private schools nationwide received the award.
