Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement after a Federal Major Disaster Declaration was declared in Buchanan County in response to the flooding of August 30-31, 2021:

“Recovery from August’s severe flooding will take time, but the federal major disaster declaration will significantly help Hurley move forward. This declaration opens up new sources of aid for the rebuilding effort and will contribute to overcoming the flood’s devastation.”
