Appalachian Regional Commission Awards $500,000 Grant for Dungannon Waterline Replacement

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) today awarded $500,000 to the Town of Dungannon for improvements to its water distribution system. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “Clean and reliable water service is essential to a community’s health and quality of life. ARC’s award of $500,000 to Dungannon to update its water distribution system will provide the town’s residents with safer and more efficient service.” Further Information According to ARC, the project includes the installation of 13,840 linear feet of waterline to improve service for 42 households and 25 businesses. Benefits will include a reduction in system-wide water loss, replacement of inoperable valves, lower maintenance costs, and increased pressure. ### |
