USDA Rural Development Awards $50,000 Grant to Stickleyville Volunteer Fire Department for Equipment

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has awarded a $50,000 grant to the Stickleyville Volunteer Fire Department in Lee County for equipment. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “It is important for volunteer firefighters to have the tools they need to keep our communities safe. The Stickleyville VFD will receive a $50,000 grant from USDA Rural Development to purchase fire and rescue equipment, a valuable investment in our volunteer firefighters.” According to USDA Rural Development, equipment secured by the grant includes a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) refilling compressor, mounting equipment and brackets to mount the SCBA equipment to fire trucks, ventilation equipment to be used for structure fires, jaws of life equipment, a portable generator for one of the trucks, and other equipment to improve efficiency and safety. ### |
