The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $35,750 to the YWCA of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia to conduct a study to identify remaining needs in substance use disorder programs in Washington and Smyth counties. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
“Substance abuse remains a real problem throughout the United States, also affecting many in our region. ARC’s INSPIRE grant will pay for a study to assess what outstanding needs exist in substance use disorder programs in Washington and Smyth counties.”
ARC’s INSPIRE initiative is a program focused on assisting individuals with substance use disorder back into the workforce after treatment and recovery.
