Griffith Applauds $2.1 Million NIST Grant Supporting Manufacturing in the Ninth District

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today applauded the announcement that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has awarded a $2,140,321 grant to the Martinsville-based GENEDGE ALLIANCE through their Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program.

“I am pleased that the National Institute of Standards and Technology has made this investment, positively impacting our manufacturing industry in the Ninth District,” said Griffith. “Supporting small- and medium-sized manufacturers, including rural manufacturers, will boost economic development and resiliency across the state.”

According to NIST, the Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program aims to “provide manufacturing extension services to primarily small and medium-sized manufacturers in the Commonwealth of Virginia.”
