The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $100,000 to the Friends of Southwest Virginia, based in Abingdon, Virginia, with the creation of a strategic plan based on the economic impact of Spearhead Trails, which will in turn be used to develop a comprehensive strategic business plan. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “This funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission will help the Friends of Southwest Virginia with the administration of both an economic assessment and a strategic business plan for Spearhead Trails, hoping to expand trail development and find ways to better serve the local recreation economy.” ### |
