The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $25,000 to the Coalfield Water Development Fund (CWDF), based in Coeburn, Virginia, for the “Building and Sustaining Endowments to Benefit Southwest Virginia” project. This funding by ARC will be used to conduct a program evaluation of CWDF’s work and in turn, support CWDF fundraising for a proposed new wastewater endowment. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “I welcome this funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission, which will allow important investments in wastewater infrastructure for communities in Southwest Virginia to come to fruition.” The funding will also prepare for the launch of Foundation for Appalachian Virginia (FAV), a new community foundation which will reach previously unserved counties and help purchase office supplies to be used by both CWDF and FAV. ### |
