Griffith Announces $700,000 for Hurley Water Extension Project

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) today awarded $700,000 to the Buchanan County Board of Supervisors for the Hurley Waterline Extension Project. The final installment of the 12-phase project, this funding will be used to improve water access to 97 households. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“I am pleased that these funds from the Appalachian Regional Commission will help guarantee safe, drinkable water for Buchanan County residents. This important project will improve water access for 97 households in Hurley, positively impacting quality of life for many.”

According to ARC, this project will also receive $3,877,220 from other federal sources, $1,829,973 from state sources, and $163,165 from local sources, with total project funding coming to $6,570,358.
