U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) announced today that Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded a grant of $300,000 to the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center Foundation for the Southwest Virginia Regional Simulation Lab for Nursing and Allied Health.

“This grant by ARC is great news as it will be used to create a new state-of-the-art multidisciplinary lab, providing needed opportunities for health care students and medical residents in Southwest Virginia to develop their clinical skills,” said Griffith.

According to ARC, 450 students and 11 organizations will be served through this simulation lab, as well as the potential to retain up to 50 jobs.
