Griffith Announces $140,000 For Economic Development Planning in Cumberland Plateau and Lenowisco Planning Districts

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) announced today that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded two grants, each worth $70,000, for economic development planning in the Cumberland Plateau and Lenowisco Planning Districts. “These two awards, totaling $140,000, will assist in economic development planning in the Cumberland Plateau and Lenowisco Planning Districts,” said Griffith. “I am excited to see how this money will be used to support private investment and job creation within each planning district.” These investments by EDA are designed to support the continued development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS), in order to strengthen the regional economy for which each Planning Commission represents. The two grants awarded today: $70,000 – Cumberland Plateau Planning District Commission (Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, and Tazewell) $70,000 – Lenowisco Planning District Commission (Lee, Scott, and Wise, and the city of Norton) ### |
