Today, the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) awarded $700,000 to Lee County for the St. Charles Monarch Waterline Replacement Project. This project will replace 9,970 linear feet of waterline and install 4 gate valves and 1 fire hydrant, serving 38 households in St. Charles. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Water service plays a critical role in promoting public health and increasing quality of life. This $700,000 grant from ARC to make substantial improvements to the waterline in St. Charles will benefit its residents by providing better access and improving water quality.”
