Today, the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) awarded $300,000 to the Friends of Southwest Virginia for their Gateways to the Southwest Virginia: Outdoor Economy Recreation Plans. This money will be used to complete the outdoor recreation strategic planning for most of the Southwest Virginia region. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “This $300,000 grant from ARC to help complete outdoor recreation strategic planning is great news. People of all ages can benefit from outdoor recreation activities, both mentally and physically, and I am glad such options are being expanded through this project.” ### |
