The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has suspended and proposed to debar EcoHealth Alliance on the grounds that it lacks the present responsibility to participate in U.S. Federal Government procurement and nonprocurement programs. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“EcoHealth Alliance failed to follow its contractual obligations as it funded coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). EcoHealth has exhibited a lack of transparency and responsibility.

“Dr. Peter Daszak, President of EcoHealth Alliance, has been misleading at best in some of his answers to Congress as well.

“I agree with this decision by HHS to suspend EcoHealth Alliance from participating in federal procurement and nonprocurement programs.”
