Griffith Announces $1,692,538 ARC Grant to Appalachian Sustainable Development

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded Appalachian Sustainable Development a $1,692,538 grant. The funding will serve businesses, organizations and others that contribute to Appalachia’s food and agriculture industries. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
“This ARC grant for nearly $1.7 million helps Appalachian Sustainable Development support food and agriculture entrepreneurs in the region.”
BACKGROUND
This project will focus on the development of agriculture and food system development as an entrepreneur-driven industry, support for the training and technical assistance needed to engage in the agriculture and food systems, and a focus on regenerative practices and community engagement to work on building a brighter, community-centric future for Appalachia's workforce.
The name of this project is entitled: “Groundwork: Growing the Capacity of Appalachia’s Food and Agricultural Entrepreneurs.”
