Griffith Announces $100,000 ARC Grant to LENOWISCO Planning District Commission

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded the LENOWISCO Planning District Commission a $100,000 grant. The funding will support disaster recovery efforts to communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Congressional passage last week of the American Relief Act means that localities impacted by Hurricane Helene, including those in Southwest Virginia, can request federal assistance.

“This ARC grant for $100,000 helps LENOWISCO Planning District Commission deliver Helene-related technical assistance to several communities and address the extent to which greater recovery efforts are needed.”

BACKGROUND

LENOWISCO will review and update strategic plans to reflect the impact of the hurricane, and assist with applying for grants to rebuild, and managing additional recovery funds.
