Griffith Announces $139,113 DOT Grant to Develop Twin County Airport

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded the Twin County Airport Commission, based in Carroll County, Virginia, a $139,113 grant. The funding supports the construction of two new hangars at the Twin County Airport. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

 

“Federal dollars continue to support the construction of new storage space for airports in Virginia’s Ninth District.

 

“This DOT grant for more than $139,000 helps the Twin County Airport Commission deliver improved storage space to the Twin County Airport.”

 

BACKGROUND

 

This grant money was made available through the FAA Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Infrastructure Grant program.

 

In August 2025, Twin County Airport Commission received nearly $3 million from the FAA for similar projects.
