The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded the Town of Rocky Mount, Virginia, a $128,000 grant. The funding supports a Comprehensive Study Action Plan to improve road and pedestrian safety in Rocky Mount. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
“Ninth District local communities benefit from improved access to public safety initiatives.
“This DOT grant for $128,000 helps Rocky Mount pursue public safety measures in a major area of Franklin County.”
This grant money was made available through the DOT Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant program.
This Action Plan will support formation of a task force, local public engagement and annual progress reviews.
