Griffith Announces Three Grants Totaling Over $730,000 for Western Virginia Airports

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded the following grants to airports in Virginia’s Ninth District:

 

  • $484,863 to the Virginia Tech Montgomery Regional Airport Authority
  • $139,113 to the Twin County Airport Commission
  • $112,932 to the Tazewell County Airport Authority

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) celebrated this news in recent statements:

 

“Federal dollars continue to support the construction of new storage space for airports in Virginia’s Ninth District.

 

“These DOT grants for more than $730,000 help deliver improved storage space to three Ninth District airports.”

 

BACKGROUND

 

This grant money was made available through the FAA Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Infrastructure Grant program.
