Griffith Announces $331,233 ARC Grant to Big Stone Gap for Water Extension Project

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded the Town of Big Stone Gap a $331,233 grant. The funding supports the Sunrise Village Water Extension Project. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
“Public health outcomes improve from increased access to safe, clean drinking water.
“This ARC grant for more than $330,000 helps Big Stone Gap make improvements to the municipal water system in the Sunrise Village subdivision.”
BACKGROUND
ARC funding will be used to construct 3,170 square feet of municipal waterlines to 17 households.
