The U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is tapping a research team from Virginia Tech to help transform the future of aviation. NASA will deliver federal funding through the University Leadership Initiative to support the Virginia Tech three-year project focused on next-generation aircraft design.

In response to this news, U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Virginia Tech is one of four university teams in the United States selected to help NASA advance transformative aviation solutions.

“American scientists, engineers and innovators will contribute to the development of the next fleet of aircraft. NASA believes that respected institutions like Virginia Tech can make a difference in this development.”
