The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded Lee County, Virginia, a $1 million grant. This funding will support a housing infrastructure project to help serve local and prospective residents in Ewing. In response to this grant notice, U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “Shortages in available housing limit those who wish to live in Lee County, contribute to its economy and work at the Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center. “This ARC grant for $1 million helps Lee County lead a housing initiative that results in community development and economic growth.” BACKGROUND According to ARC, this project will construct 6,610 linear feet of new water line and 338,256 square feet of new roadway. ### |
