I thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. Generations of men and women have fought with great valor to preserve and protect the United States.
Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement today honoring all veterans, past and present, for their service: “I thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. Generations of men and women have fought with great valor to preserve and protect the United States. Some may take for granted the freedoms we hold so dear and forget that those freedoms are not free. Our veterans deserve our greatest respect and appreciation. “While we can never repay the cost of these sacrifices, it is our duty to ease the transition of these men and women returning home who have put everything on the line for us. This year the House of Representatives has passed a number of bills aimed at making the lives of veterans better. Included is legislation that would help unemployed veterans find work and ensure that veterans receive the benefits they have earned. “This is a day of remembrance as well as celebration. Many events honoring our veterans will take place today across the Ninth District. While reflecting on the service of our veterans, we must also remember those who continue to serve both at home and abroad. My prayers remain with these men and women as well as all of our troops and their families. May God bless them and keep them safe.” ### Bills passed by the House this year in support of America’s veterans:
