“The Senate has yet to get the message,” said Congressman Griffith.
Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement today marking 1,000 days since the Democrat-controlled United States Senate last passed a budget: “The Senate has yet to get the message,” said Congressman Griffith. “In the past 1,000 days, the Senate has failed to even pass a budget. During that time, the national debt surpassed $15 trillion – climbing higher every day. The American people know that if we want to spur economic growth and job creation, we need a plan to restore fiscal order in Washington. We cannot follow a plan to cut spending and decrease the debt if the Senate is not willing to pass a budget. As President Obama prepares to address Congress and the nation tonight, I hope the Senate will take a moment to reflect on this lack of leadership and join us at the table to tackle America’s growing debt.” ### |
