Congressman Morgan Griffith issued the following statement regarding his votes on the FY 2013 budget resolutions in the House:
“The House budget passed today with my support. I also voted for the Republican Study Committee’s budget substitute, which unfortunately did not pass. I’m pleased that the House continues to move in the right direction with respect to cutting wasteful spending. This FY 2013 budget, which is a blueprint for government spending, is very encouraging. The people of the Ninth Congressional District elected me to make tough decisions, not to just make the politically easy ones. Congress needs to enact significant cuts to current spending and implement numerous changes to the way we do business in Washington. If I am doing my job for my children, Abby, Davis, and Starke, and for your children and grandchildren, we have got to stop spending money we do not have.” ###
