Griffith Applauds ARC Grant for Buchanan County

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement on an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant to Buchanan County:

“I am pleased that the federally-funded Appalachian Regional Commission is providing assistance to guarantee safe water for Buchanan County residents. These funds will go to constructing 25,880 linear feet of waterline and extend water service to 61 households and three businesses in Hurley. This is an important project that will improve the quality of life and economic opportunity in Southwest Virginia.”

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded a $500,000 grant to the Buchanan County Board of Supervisors for the Swan Fork Waterline Extension Project. Funds will support efforts to provide clean water for homes and businesses in Hurley. This grant combined with state and local resources brings total project funding to $1,552,397.
