Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) joined officials from the Virginia Division of Mines, Minerals, and Energy today to announce a $88,302 grant to improve the trail and parking lot at the Devil’s Fork Loop Trail in Scott County. Griffith issued the following statement: “The Devil’s Fork Loop Trail offers access to one of Virginia’s great natural treasures, the Devil’s Bathtub. The $88,302 in funding announced today will improve the trail and its parking lot. Securing funding for abandoned mine land reclamation projects, such as this one, has been a priority of mine in the House of Representatives, and I am glad that these funds will go to enhancing the visitor experience at this notable natural attraction.” Background Griffith has secured an additional $20 million for a pilot program to fund abandoned mine land reclamation in Virginia with a specific focus on economic development. ### |
