Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement after Governor Ralph Northam (D-VA) highlighted the third round of $10 million in funding for Southwest Virginia through the Abandoned Mine Land (AML) Pilot Program:

“I appreciate the renewed attention the Governor has brought to the federal AML program, a valuable source of support for economic development on abandoned mine land in Southwest Virginia. Securing these funds has been a priority of mine in the House of Representatives, and this third tranche of funding shows the great progress we have made. I look forward to the new projects that will result from this $10 million and will continue to advocate for additional support to help our coalfields communities.”
