The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) today awarded the New River Valley Regional Commission $124,600 for the Painter School Road Broadband Project in Giles County. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “Closing the digital divide is essential for economic development, job growth, and the quality of life in rural areas. ARC’s award of $124,600 for the Painter School Road Broadband Project will offer the people of Giles County more opportunity and benefit the local economy.” Further Information According to ARC, the grant will allow fiber-to-the-premises to subscribers in Commissary Hill Road and Painter School Road, allow fiber connectivity to pass 45 households and allow work-at-home and virtual learning for students. ### |
