The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded the Town of Blacksburg’s Blacksburg Transit $5,150,000 to purchase electric buses and charging equipment. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “The award of more than $5 million to Blacksburg to upgrade its bus fleet is welcome news to all who rely on public transit for their activities.” The grant was awarded through the Department of Transportation’s Low or No Emission Vehicle Program, created by the FAST Act of 2015. Griffith wrote a letter of support for Blacksburg’s grant application. ### |
