The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $420,000 to Henry County for the Historic Fieldale Recreation Center Renovation project. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“Renovating the Fieldale Recreation Center is a key project for Henry County’s economic development. ARC’s award of $420,000 to this project will significantly advance it and move Henry County forward.”

ARC’s award will support phase I renovations at the recreation center, including asbestos abatement, electrical and plumbing upgrades, vinyl tile removal and replacement, basic ceiling, window, and door repairs, the installation of ADA-compliant lifts, handicap ramps, hardware, and gym railing, and the construction of a second-floor bathroom.
